Deborah's Story Ever since I was a small child, I had a natural ability to feel and see other people's pain and hurt, along with a fascination when listening to my peers open their heart and speak the truth. I would seek out people who were being authentic and sincere and in need of moral support. I had a righteous spirit, always wanting to take on the world and fight for a cause. When I was twelve years old, I started horseback riding and began spending my weekends building relationships with badly treated horses. These skittish, powerful animals were wild and rebellious, but I was able to gain their trust with compassion and kindness. I seemed to be able to communicate with them on another level, calming their fears and the anger raging within them. At seventeen, I began to recognize my spirituality with a clearer understanding of the many visions and voices that filled my dreams. Some of these dreams foretold a future event, or answered a question that had been difficult for me to solve. I knew that there was a higher power watching over me and helping me find my way. At nineteen, I ventured into the outback to work with cattle, sheep and the wildest of horses. Two years later I ended up marrying a cattle rancher (known as a grazier in Australia) and having two sons.
